Flashes Fall to Raiders in Midweek Matchup

DAYTON- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team fell to the Wright State Raiders 6-11 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Flashes would get on the board first when Jake Casey sent a double up the right field line to score Brady Marshall.
Wright State would answer back with a single tally in the third and then score six runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Flashes would chip away at the lead with two of their own in the fifth with an RBI double by Hayden Jatczak and a bases loaded walk by Alejandro Covas. Casey would add one more in the sixth with a single to right field. The Raiders would add four insurance runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Kent State would attempt a comeback in the ninth with Covas and Hunter Klotz coming in to score on wild pitches.
In the box score Jatczak and Casey led the Flashes offense with two hits apiece. Freshman Marshall made his season debut getting the start at shortstop.
The Flashes will be back in action this weekend for their Mid-American conference "bye week" by welcoming the Hofstra Pride into the friendly confines of Schoonover Stadium. The three-game set is currently slated to kick off Friday with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
