
Flashes Welcome in Hofstra for Non-Con Weekend

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes Baseball team (6-8) returns to Schoonover Stadium this weekend for a three-game non-conference series with the Hofstra Pride (6-10).
Live stats will be available for all three contests over the weekend. Stream availability will depend on the results of the ongoing Mid-American Conference basketball tournament.
Last Time Out
Kent State fell to Wright State on Tuesday afternoon in Dayton 6-11.
The Flashes would get on the board first when Jake Casey sent a double up the right field line to score Brady Marshall.
Wright State would answer back with a single tally in the third and then score six runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Flashes would chip away at the lead with two of their own in the fifth with an RBI double by Hayden Jatczak and a bases loaded walk by Alejandro Covas. Casey would add one more in the sixth with a single to right field. The Raiders would add four insurance runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Kent State would attempt a comeback in the ninth with Covas and Hunter Klotz coming in to score on wild pitches.

Saturday: Ciaran Caughey, RHP vs Tristan Nemjo RHP
Sunday: Jacob Bean, RHP vs Tanner Sanderoff, RHP
Scouting the Opposition
Hofstra comes into Schoonover Stadium at 6-10 on the season and are coming off a 14-6 victory over Farleigh Dickenson on Wednesday.
Dylan Palmer leads the pride offense; the utility man is riding a twelve-game hitting streak and has multiple hits in seven of them. Palmer is hitting .383 on the year with a team high 23 hits.
Junior, Jackson Bauer, will get the ball for Hofstra on Friday night. The right-hamder has pitched the most innings for the pride at 22.1 and has struck out 13 over those innings.
On Deck for the Flashes
Kent State will hit the road Wednesday Mar. 19 for a midweek matchup with the Pitt Panthers. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. The Flashes will stay on the road next weekend Mar. 21-23 for a three-game set with the Bowling Green Falcons.
