Flashes Rise to Fourth in Florida State Match Up Second Round

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kent State women's golf team continued their penultimate regular season tournament with the second round of the Florida State Match Up on Saturday. The Flashes posted a 4-over-par 291 in round two, a 16-stroke improvement on yesterday's first round, as three Flashes currently sit in the top 15.
The Flashes were led on the day by star sophomore Veronika Kedronova, who tallied five birdies and an eagle on Saturday to post a 3-under-par 69, marking her fourth round in the 60s this season. Kedronova sits tied for third place at 1-over-par with 18 holes of play remaining and is in the hunt for her sixth top-ten finish and third win of the season.
Another big performer for Kent State on Saturday was freshman Gracie Larsen, who had a consistent day with three birdies and 13 pars en route to an even-par 72. Larsen, who has already won a MAC Golfer of the Week award this Spring, is seeking her first top-20 finish since the opening two tournaments of the Fall season. She sits tied for 15th at 4-over-par entering tomorrow's final round.
Another Flash tied for 15th after 36 holes of play is Leon Takagi, who continued a strong Spring with an even-par 72 in round two. The junior had an up-and-down round, matching five bogeys with five birdies. Takagi sits at 4-over-par ahead of tomorrow's final round.
The final countable score toward the team total for Kent State was recorded by Isabella Goyette, who tallied a 6-over-par 78 in round two. The freshman is tied for 47th at 13-over-par through two rounds of play.
Kent State closes the Florida State Match Up tomorrow with the third and final round set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
