
De Coninck and Dunaway Win Field Events Friday at Texas Relays

Kent State's Svenia De Coninck and Keeli Dunaway recorded first-place finishes in their respective events at the Texas Relays on Friday.
Dunaway soared a personal-best 41'-11.5" to claim the No. 5 spot on the Golden Flashes' women's triple jump performance list.
Making her 2025 debut after redshirting during the indoor season, De Coninck won the women's high jump by clearing the bar at 5'-8".
Ayden Bath opened the outdoor campaign with a mark of 22'-10.5" to place third in the men's long jump.
Jaheim Jones advanced to the finals in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.47 seconds.
Amryne Chilton ran a personal-best time of 12.06 seconds in the women's 100-meter dash. Later in the evening about 30 miles away at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Chilton placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.73 seconds that is just .02 off her PR.
Kent State had two additional runners record fourth-place finishes during the opening day of competition on Thursday. Dylan McBride ran a time of 1:51.34 in the men's 800-meter run and Karsyn Spears clocked in at 2:11.82 in the women's 800-meter run.
The Flashes will conclude their first weekend of outdoor competition on Saturday with student-athletes in action at both the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.
