Kent State Softball Heads to Columbus for Final Non-Conference Weekend

Kent State heads to Ohio State for the final non-conference weekend of the season. The Golden Flashes will play four games on Saturday and Sunday, including a matchup against top-ranked Texas.
Live stats will be available for all games, and Saturday's game against host Ohio State will be streamed on BTN+.

About the Flashes
Kent State (5-14) got the bats going last weekend and had a .340 team batting average over five games at the Mizuno Showdown. Senior Delaney Robeson was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for her outstanding performance, which was highlighted by a .684 batting average, three home runs and seven RBIs.
Robeson has been among the best players in the conference during the first month of the season and leads the MAC in both batting average (.458) and hits (27), while ranking third in RBIs (19), on-base percentage (.508) and OPS (1.186).
Senior Katie Jo Moery is among the top-five in the conference in doubles (5) and RBIs (16) and leads the Golden Flashes with eight extra-base hits. Moery's versatility has also been on display with starts at three different defensive positions.
Sophomore Leilani Johnson has provided a boost to the bottom of the lineup since taking over as starting catcher. Johnson is hitting .438 and had a career-high four RBIs in last weekend's finale against host North Carolina.
Freshman Ella Johnson (1-3) leads the pitching staff with 17 appearances and is tied for eighth in the MAC with 20 strikeouts. Junior Carley Penner (1-1) made her first pitching appearance since 2023 last weekend and tossed a complete game victory against Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
On Deck for the Flashes
Kent State will begin Mid-American Conference play at Devine Diamond against Miami on March 14-15.
