
Bath Shatters Duke Invitational Decathlon Record

DURHAM, N.C. – Ayden Bath totaled 7,466 points to win the men's decathlon at the Duke Invitational and beat the previous meet record by more than 300.
Bath posted the third highest decathlon total in Kent State track and field history and set new personal-bests in six of the 10 events. His mark of 25'-0.75" in the long jump puts him at No. 4 on the Golden Flashes' all-time performance list in the event. Joel Enander also performed well in the two-day event. Enander totaled 6,949 points, which is good for No. 10 in Kent State history, for third place in his first collegiate decathlon.
The Flashes were also represented well in the women's multis, as Svenia De Coninck and Shelby Grover placed fourth and fifth, respectively in the heptathlon. De Coninck's PR of 5,170 points ranks fourth on the Flashes' all-time performance list and Grover's 5,065 points ranks sixth.
Amare Hall won the men's long jump with a personal-best mark of 24'-6.5".
Aliesha Shaw posted a pair of top-three finishes on Friday. Shaw took second in the women's shot put with a season-best throw of 47'-5.75" and placed third in discus throw with a mark of 160'-5". Aubrey Schoeneman placed in the top-10 in both events, taking seventh in discus (142'-7") and 10th in shot put (42'-3.50").
In the men's shot put, Charles Pawlosky finished eighth with a top throw of 54'-11.25".
Kent State will conclude competition at the Duke Invitational on Saturday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with running events to follow at 12 p.m.
