KENT, Ohio - The NCAA revealed the regional field for the 2025 women's golf championship on Wednesday, with Kent State being selected to compete in the Columbus Regional at OSU Golf Club. The Columbus Regional is set for Monday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 7, where the Flashes will look to continue a historic season.
The Flashes are fresh from winning the program's 26th consecutive MAC Championship this week in Muncie. The team won by a dominant 28 strokes, placing all five golfers in the top eight of the individual standings. The Kent State freshman trio of Aryn Matthews, Gracie Larsen, and Isabella Goyette each posted their best finishes of the season in their MAC Championship debut, each finishing tied for second at 3-over-par.
The Columbus Regional will not be the first time the Flashes have competed at the OSU Golf Club Scarlet Course. The team competed in the Therse Hession Buckeye Invitational on April 12 and 13, placing third among the 13 teams competing. Four Flashes posted top-15 finishes in the event, led by a runner-up finish from Veronika Kedronova, who posted an impressive 5-under-par. Leon Takagi earned her best finish of the season on the Scarlet Course, tying for seventh place at 4-over-par.
The Flashes are seeking the team's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2021, when the team finished tied for fifth in the Columbus Regional, which was also hosted at OSU Golf Club. Kent State has advanced past the regional round eight times in program history.
