Late Rally Dooms Flashes on Saturday

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team dropped game two against the rival Akron Zips by a score of 7-8 on Saturday afternoon in Kent.
The two rivals would exchange solo tallies in the first with Kent State scoring on a Jake Casey RBI double.
Akron scored the next four runs of the game getting one in the second, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth.
The Kent State bats would wake back up in the bottom of the sixth scoring four runs to tie the game at five. Hayden Jatczak would come in to score on a wild pitch, Casey would score on a Sacrifice fly off the bat of Sawyer Solitaria, pinch-hitter Dom Kibler would come off the bench and tie the game up on a two-run double that found the gap in right center.
Jatczak would give the Flashes their first lead of the game in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run moonshot deep over the wall in left field.
After going down quiet in the eighth the Zips would rally for three runs with two out in the top of the ninth to regain the lead. Kent State would go down in order in the bottom half of the inning.
On Deck for the Flashes
The Flashes and the Zips will meet for the rubber match on Sunday Apr. 27 at Schoonover Stadium. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
