
Flashes Open Road Trip at Central Michigan

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes Baseball team will head north up to Mount Pleasant Michigan for a Mid-American Conference three-game series with the Central Michigan Chippewas. The two teams are set for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Friday and a 1 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and Sunday.
All three game will be streamed on Chippewas All-Access, live stats will also be provided.
About The Flashes
Kent State will enter Mount Pleasant with a 16-11 record on the 2025 season and are currently riding an eight-game winning streak. The Flashes have won their last five weekend series including the Keith LeClair classic hosted by East Carolina. Kent State swept their six-game home stand including their first series sweep of the year against the Toledo Rockets.
Starting pitchers Gavin Jones and Jacob Bean were phenomenal in their starts last weekend against Toledo. Jones delivered his third quality start in a row Friday afternoon against the Rockets as he went seven innings allowing just two runs on two hits while striking out six. Bean followed up on Saturday with a stellar performance of his own going 6.1 innings allowing just one run on two hits while striking out seven.
After Eric Chalus started the game on Sunday against Toledo the flashes turned to Rocco Bernadina who went 5.1 innings allowing no runs on two hits and struck out seven en route to his first win of the season.
The Flashes feature a high-powered offense that has scored a MAC leading 251 runs on the season. Kent State also leads the MAC in doubles (65), triples (11), and stolen bases (65). Leading the way is a pair of seniors Jake Casey and Hayden Jatczak who have started all 27 games for the Flashes. Jatczak leads the team in hits (40), doubles (16), total bases (78), and tied for the lead in RBIs (35). Casey leads the Flashes in runs (41), home runs (8), and hit by pitches (12). Jatczak's 16 doubles lead the conference and are good for second in the nation.
Senior catcher, Brody Williams, enter the weekend on a 16-game hitting streak dating back to Mar. 2 against Indiana State.

Scouting the Opposition
Central Michigan enters the weekend with an 11-18 record on the season and 5-4 in MAC play. The Chippewas are coming off a 16-3 run-rule victory at Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday.
The Chippewas feature a balanced offensive attack with three qualified batters hitting over .300. Central Michigan is second in the MAC in doubles with 61, just four behind the Golden Flashes in first place.
Kent State swept Central Michigan last year in Kent during the opening weekend of MAC play. The Flashes outscored the Chippewas 26-6 over the three games.
