KENT– Kent State women's soccer head coach Rob Marinaro announced on Wednesday that Heidi Marshall will be joining the team's coaching staff as an assistant coach. Marshall is a program alum and recent graduate, serving as Kent State's primary goalkeeper in the 2024 season.
"We are thrilled to be adding Heidi to our coaching staff," Marinaro said. "She is a tremendous person that knows our culture. She will be a wonderful mentor to our Goalkeepers and entire team. Heidi was a culture builder as a student-athlete with us and now can lead from her coaching role. I am very proud to be adding another former Kent State player and really look forward to watching Heidi grow as a coach."
Originally from San Diego, California, Marshall spent her entire four-year collegiate career at Kent State, appearing in 24 games in goal for the Flashes. She started all 19 games at goalkeeper during her senior season last year, helping Kent State post a 9-7-3 record and reach the MAC Tournament semifinals. Marshall tallied 55 saves and five shutouts in her playing career as a Golden Flash.
Marshall earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the College of Communication and Information at Kent State in Spring 2025.
