CLEVELAND— Kent State senior Mackenzie McGuire has been named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as the league office announced its first weekly award recipients of the season on Monday.
McGuire earned a spot on the Florida Atlantic Invitational All-Tournament Team and is the MAC leader in both points per set (5.86) and kills per set (5.64) after the opening weekend of the season. Her 26 kills over four sets against Texas Tech were the most any conference attacker had in a single match. McGuire hit .300 or better with at least 17 kills in both of the Golden Flashes' two other matches.
Kent State will play three matches in the Baltimore area this weekend with contests to be played at both Morgan State and Towson.
