
Flashes Earn First Sweep of Season Against North Dakota

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Kent State swept its opponent for the first time this season in a 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-23, 25-20) over North Dakota on Friday evening.
Junior Christina Vigil posted a double-double for the second match in a row with 27 assists and 10 digs. Sophomores Hailey Brenner and Lesley Furuta added seven digs each to help the Golden Flashes limit their host to a .028 hitting percentage. Redshirt sophomore Adalynn Ginley led the defense at the net with four total blocks.
Kent State had a balanced attack, as junior Mercedez Brown, senior Mackenzie McGuire and sophomore Nadia Miller shared the team lead with eight kills each. Freshman Macie Moreland was right behind with seven kills.
The Golden Flashes (4-4) will travel south about 80 miles to Fargo and finish the weekend at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday against North Dakota State.
