
Kent State Soccer Finishes Road Trip At Ball State

Muncie, Indiana- The Kent State Soccer team will finish out a five-game road trip when they head to west for a conference matchup Sunday at 1 p.m against Ball State.
Last Time Out
The Golden Flashes opened up conference play with a close loss to Bowling Green on the road by a score of 2-1.Â
The Falcons got on the board first in the 35th-minute as Emma Stransky scored on a header in front of the net to give the home team a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.Â
The Flashes evened things up early in the second half as Kelsey Salopek also scored on a header from a corner kick by Samantha Miller in the 50th-minute.Â
However, Bowling Green responded with another goal from Emma Stransky eight minutes later to bring the score to 2-1 where it would remain for the rest of the game.Â
KSU dominated in the shooting category with 16 shots compared to 7 for the Falcons. The Blue and Gold also won by a count of 9-4 in the corner kick department.
Scouting Ball State
The Cardinals had a successful non-conference slate and are unbeaten in their first two conference games of the season. They were able to take down UMass 1-0 and force a 1-1 draw against Central Michigan last week. They come in with an overall record of 4-2-2, coming off a 7-8-3 record in 2024.
Senior forward Addie Chester will be the focal point of the KSU defense as she comes into the matchup with 15 points off six goals and three assists. She leads the conference in points and goals.Â
Also leading the conference in a statistical category for the Cardinals is senior forward Delaney Caldwell with 26 shots. She also has two goals on the year and was last week's MAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Series History
Sunday's meeting will be the 29th all-time meeting between the Flashes and the Cardinals while Ball State holds a slight edge with a record of 13-12-3 in the series. The Blue and Gold won the matchup last year 1-0 in Kent.
Up Next
After a visit to Ball State, the Golden Flashes will return home for the first time in nearly a month to take on the University of Massachusetts at Zoeller field at Dix Stadium on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
