
Kent State Drops Road Match to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Kent State was beaten by preseason Mid-American Conference favorite Bowling Green, 3-0 (22-25, 9-25, 21-25), on Friday.
The Golden Flashes (5-8, 0-2 MAC) were led on offense by senior Mackenzie McGuire, who had six kills. Junior Mercedez Brown and freshman Macie Moreland added five kills each. Junior Christina Vigil totaled 19 assists and added six digs to share the team lead with senior Greta Bolognini.
Kent State tested its host in the serving game and recorded seven aces as a team. Sophomore Lesley Furuta led the way with a career-high four aces.
The Flashes will play their first home matches of the season inside of the M.A.C. Center next, hosting Buffalo on Friday, Oct. 3 and Akron on Saturday, Oct. 4.
