Kent State heads to the Towson-Morgan State Invitational for three matches this weekend.
The match against Towson will be streamed on FloCollege.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Outside hitter Mackenzie McGuire had a monster start to her senior season and was named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week. McGuire averaged 5.64 kills per set and 5.86 points per set at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, which puts her fourth and 10th, respectively, in the national rankings. She enters the weekend nearing a pair of career milestones with 977 kills and 490 digs.
Junior Christina Vigil impressed in her Golden Flashes debut and ranks second nationally among transfers at 10.64 assists per set. Vigil posted a double-double in the opener against the host Owls and finished with a season-best 48 assists against Texas Tech.
Redshirt junior Liliana Mechura led the defense with 12 total blocks and ranks fifth in the MAC in blocks per set (1.20). Mechura recorded a career-high 13 points on eight kills, seven blocks and one service ace against Western Carolina.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
New Orleans
The Privateers (1-2) beat Texas Southern during opening weekend at the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic to snap a 22-match losing streak. Middle blocker/outside hitter Courtney Roundtree led the attack with 2.82 kills per set and a .264 hitting percentage.
Morgan State
The Bears swept Arkansas-Pine Bluff before dropping its final two matches at the Bettsy Austin Invitational. Middle blocker/outside hitter Jada Williams and outside hitter/right side Daniela Ferreira had monster opening weekends. Williams average 3.09 kills per set with a .491 hitting percentage, while Ferreira hit .361 and averaged 3.00 kills per set.
Towson
The Tigers closed a 1-2 weekend at the Quest for the Crown with a 3-0 victory over Old Dominion. Towson will play its first matches of the year at SECU Arena, where it has posted an impressive 75-5 record since the start of the 2019 season. Outside hitters Ella Sanders (34 kills) and Taylor Pagan (31 kills) and middle blocker Erin Brothers (31 kills) led a balanced attack this past weekend.
ALL-TIME VS. OPPONENTS
Kent State is 7-2 all-time against this weekend's opponents. The Golden Flashes are 4-0 against Morgan State, including three sweeps, and 3-2 against Towson.
