Golden Flashes Push Into Round 3 at UCF Challenge

Kent State stands eighth as play is suspended ahead of Tuesday’s restart
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team continued play at the UCF Challenge, Presented by PDI, on Monday at Eagle Creek Golf Club, completing the second round and beginning the third round before play was suspended for darkness.
With a staggered start implemented ahead of expected cold conditions Tuesday morning, the Golden Flashes moved directly from Round 2 into Round 3 and stood in seventh in the team standings at 2-over. Auburn led the field at 18-under, with Mississippi State three strokes back.
In the second round, Leon Takagi and Veronika Kedronová paced Kent State with rounds of 2-under and 1-under, respectively. Petra Babicová carded an even-par round, while Isabella Goyette and Gracie Larsen each finished at 1-over. Aryn Matthews rounded out the scoring for the Golden Flashes with a 6-over effort.
At the suspension of play during the third round, Kent State was listed eighth at 5-over, with each golfer having three or four holes remaining. Kedronová was leading the team at 3-under on the day, while Goyette stood at 1-over and Takagi was 2-over. Babicová sat at 3-over, Larsen at 4-over, and Matthews at 1-under through Round 3 play.
Play is scheduled to resume at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Kedronová, Babicová, and Larsen each have four holes left to play. Takagi, Goyette, and Matthews each have three left.
