
Golden Flashes finish second at the West Virginia Quad-Meet

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Kent State gymnastics team finished second at the West Virginia Quad Meet on Friday night, a 195.100 at Hope Coliseum in front of 1,448 fans. Host West Virginia won the meet with a 195.875, while the Golden Flashes defeated Pittsburgh (194.775) and Cornell (193.275).
The Flashes (5-4) bounced back from their fourth-place finish at Air Force with one of their best performances of the season, highlighted by strong showings on bars and beam.
ROTATION 1 – FLOOR
Kent State opened the meet with a 48.825 on the floor exercise. Dani Fuertez and Charlie Behner tied for sixth in the event with matching 9.800s, while Zoe Rankin and Lana Mast each contributed 9.750s. Jersey Bingman added a 9.725, and Nastia Rudnitskaya posted a 9.650 to round out the rotation.
ROTATION 2 – VAULT
The Golden Flashes posted a 48.725 on vault, their second event of the evening. Jersey Bingman tied for second in the meet with a 9.825, just 0.050 behind WVU's Karleigh DiCello. Charlie Behner earned fifth place with a 9.800, while Zoe Rankin tied for tenth with a 9.725. Allie Call scored a 9.700.
ROTATION 3 – BARS
Kent State posted one of its best uneven bars performances of the season with a 48.775. Charlie Behner claimed first place in the event with a career-best 9.900, while Nastia Rudnitskaya tied for second with a 9.850. Sophia Balko finished fifth with a 9.825, and Heidi Schultz tied for sixth with a 9.800.Â
ROTATION 4 – BEAM
The Golden Flashes closed the meet with a 48.775 on balance beam, matching their bars score. Heidi Schultz delivered in the anchor position once again, tying for second in the event with a 9.875. Dani Fuertez rebounded from her bars performance with a 9.800 for seventh place, while Gabby Riley tied for eleventh with a 9.725. Mya Migliore added a 9.700, and Zoe Rankin contributed a 9.675.
