JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – The Kent State Herb Page Men's Golf team finished with their best performance of the fall season at the Bank of Tennessee after shooting 14 strokes under par as a team.
Probably the most accurate word to describe the Golden Flashes' fall season would be improvement. The team has bettered their score relative to par every tournament this year and also has lowered their overall combined score every tournament. The team shot 27 strokes lower in the Bank of Tennessee tournament than in the last tournament in Notre Dame and also shot under par as a team for the first time this week.
Leading the way for Kent State were junior duo Nolan Haynes and Darcy Hogg. Haynes once again had the best score for the Golden Flashes by shooting six-under-par in Tennessee. Haynes' 210 final score was good enough to place him in a tie for 21st individually and tie his collegiate personal record through 54 holes that he set in 2025 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament.
Also setting personal records was Darcy Hogg. The Belfast, Ireland native tied his individual low round record with a 70 in both the second and third round and also tied his low round relative to par with -2's in the second and third round. Hogg shattered his low score through 54 holes by shooting four strokes under par in the event, which was good enough to place him within the top-30 golfers.
Elsewhere in the tournament, VCU, Eastern Michigan and Toledo were in a three-team fight for the championship crown with the Rams slightly edging out the Eagles and Rockets by one and two strokes. Charlie Box, Vicente Quiroga and Felipe Suarez all made the top-10 for Eastern Michigan. Meanwhile, North Cherry (3rd) and Tanner Cadieux (6th) placed in the top-10 for VCU to help the Rams win the tournament. Despite not having a team in the tournament, Tennessee's Pennson Badgett won the personal crown with a -16 final score as an individual.
