
Ba Earns MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week Award After Record-Setting Performance

CLEVELAND – Fifth-year Baidy Ba has earned Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors following Kent State's outdoor season opener at the Raleigh Relays, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Ba set the school record in the men's 5,000-meter run on Thursday evening with a time of 13:59.99 to beat the previous record set by Nick Stricklen during the 2022 season by more than six seconds. He is now the record holder for both the indoor and outdoor 5K and owns four program records overall.
The Golden Flashes will be back in action this weekend and travel to Slippery Rock for the Dave Labor Invitational on April 3-4.
