Kedronová Set to Compete in Augusta National Women's Amateur
3/31/2026 2:20:00 PM | Women's Golf
The greatest field in amateur golf awaits Veronika Kedronová as the junior member of the Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team competes in the Augusta National Women's Amateur this week.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Kedronová will compete at Champions Retreat Golf Club. Friday will be a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club, and Saturday will feature the top 30 plus ties playing the final round at Augusta National.
The field contains amateur golfers of all tiers, including high school and college players. Forty-two golfers in the field of 72 are active college competitors. Twenty-three countries are represented across all six inhabited continents — Kedronová is the only golfer from Czechia.
Forty-eight of the top 50 ranked amateurs in the world are participating in the event. Kedronová is currently ranked 53rd.
Among the competitors are world No. 1 amateur Kiara Romero, a junior from Oregon; the No. 1 Division I competitor and reigning NCAA individual champion Maria Jose Marin from Arkansas; five active golfers and three incoming commits from No. 1-ranked Stanford; and two previous ANWA champions — Anna Davis, a junior at Auburn and the 2022 champion, and 2021 champion Tsubasa Kajitani.
Kedronová will be the third Mid-American Conference golfer all-time to compete in the event. The previous two were both Kent State golfers: Michaela Finn and Pimnipa Panthong in 2019. The 2020 edition, which was canceled due to COVID-19, was set to feature Kent State's Karoline Stormo and Panthong for her second trip.
Kedronová will tee off as part of Group 10, alongside Avery Weed (United States) of Mississippi State and Beth Coulter (Ireland) of Arizona State at 8:46 a.m. ET from the 10th tee.
The first two rounds will be broadcast live on Golf Channel from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET.
