
Chilton and Hall Earn MAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards

CLEVELAND – Kent State student-athletes Amryne Chilton and Amare Hall were recognized for their outstanding performances this past weekend at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational with Mid-American Conference Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Chilton earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors after posting a pair of program records. She won the 200-meter dash in 23.06 seconds, which puts her 48th on the national performance list. Chilton was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team that clocked a time of 3:34.75, which was more than three seconds faster than the previous record.
Hall was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week after recording a personal-best of 25'-6" in the long jump. His mark ranks second in program history and gives him a No. 25 national ranking.
Kent State will be back in action to the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
