
Golden Flashes Head to Chapel Hill for NCAA Regional

The Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team received its regional placement for the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, and the Golden Flashes will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as the No. 5 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional.
The Chapel Hill Regional will take place May 11-13 at the UNC Finley Golf Club.
Following their 27th straight conference championship at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championship, the Golden Flashes will look to build on their seventh-place finish at the 2025 Columbus Regional.
The field at Chapel Hill includes top-seeded Texas, No. 2 seed and host North Carolina, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Virginia, Michigan State, North Carolina State, High Point, Furman, Richmond and Howard.
Seven other teams in the field join the No. 28 Golden Flashes in the top 50 of the Clippd Rankings: Texas (5), North Carolina (12), Mississippi State (17), Oklahoma State (20), Virginia (35), Michigan State (39) and North Carolina State (44).
Kent State is the highest-ranked conference champion in the Chapel Hill Regional. High Point won the Big South, Furman won the Southern Conference, Richmond won the Atlantic 10 and Howard won the Northeast Conference.
The top five teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at Omni La Costa Golf Club in Carlsbad, California, May 22-27.
