Veronika Kedronova Selected to ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List

KENT, Ohio – The Haskins Foundation announced Thursday morning that Kent State women's golfer Veronika Kedronova has been selected to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List.
The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel Financial Corp. has been given out annually by the Haskins Foundation since 2014 to recognize the top women's collegiate golfer in division one of the NCAA. The award was named after Annika Sorenstam, one of the most accomplished collegiate and professional golfers of all time. Sorenstam finished her career in 2008 with 97 professional wins and eight LPGA Player of the Year awards.
Kedronova enters the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List fresh off having a career year last season, highlighted by appearances in the CPKC Women's Open and the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships. The senior from the Czech Republic also won MAC Golfer of the Week twice last season after winning the Canadian Collegiate and Landfall Tradition events.
Kedronova's Canadian Collegiate win started with an impressive 6-under par in round one as she finished the event eight strokes under par in 36 holes. The Landfall Tradition victory saw Kedronova post a new Kent State program record with a 13-under par 203 in 54 holes.
Kedronova also holds a MAC Freshman of the Year award, three All-MAC First Team awards, and back-to-back MAC Golfer of the Year awards. Off the course, Kedronova was a two-time MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week last year and was named to the Academic All-MAC team in each of the last two seasons.
The most recent ANNIKA Award was given to Texas' Farah O'Keefe, who went on to win the 2026 individual national championship. O'Keefe continued the tradition of a Power-4 program winning the award as 12 of the previous 13 winners came from either the SEC, ACC, or PAC-12. Kedronova will look to become just the second mid-major golfer to win the award after Furman's Natalie Srinivasan broke the barrier with her victory in 2020.
Kedronova and the Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel Women's Golf team will start the 2026-27 season on Monday, Aug. 31 at the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Ind. Kedronova finished 8th in the 80-golfer field in the event last year.
