2008-09 Freshman Season
Indoor Track and Field – Did not compete.
Outdoor Track and Field – Qualified for the NCAA Mid-East Regional four times in the javelin…finished eighth at the regional meet with a toss of 210’-11”, the team’s best javelin throw of the season which also ranked sixth in team history…finished third at the MAC Championships in the javelin with a 205’ throw…won the javelin at the Jesse Owens Classic with a throw of 210’-5” to help garner MAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week recognition…also won the event at the All-Ohio Championships thanks to a 205’-2” throw…recorded a throw of a 202’-5” at the Northeast Ohio Quad.
Prior to Kent State
Crowned as the New Jersey state champion in the javelin as both a junior and senior…selected as the Middlesex County Player of the Year at Old Bridge High School in those same two seasons…placed first in the discus in Group IV in 2008…undefeated in the javelin as a junior and senior at track meets in his home state of New Jersey…helped to lead OBHS to the 2008 Indoor Track and Field Group IV State Championship…selected as the Old Bridge High School Track Rookie of the Year as a sophomore…member of the 2006 Outdoor Track and Field Group IV State and County Championship teams…also a member of the 2007 and 2008 Outdoor Track and Field County and County Relay Champions…received all-county honors in baseball as a freshman.

Born Feb. 20, 1990…son of Stephen and Celeste Florek…earned his Eagle Scout…majoring in physical education.
