Prior to Kent State

Earned four letters in track for Jay County High School under head coach Greg Garringer…won sectional championships in the 400 meters his sophomore and junior seasons…also won sectional titles in the high jump and long jump while taking 19th in the long jump at the Indiana State High School Track Championships his sophomore year…set a school record in the 400 meters (49.8) his junior year…received All-Olympic Athletic Conference honors his junior and senior years in the 400 meters and his freshman season in the high jump…helped his team to a sectional championship his senior year…also earned three letters in football and one in basketball for the Patriots.
