Andre Flowers will compete for playing time in a crowded backfield. 2009 Junior Season Rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on 59 carries…also caught eight passes for 28 yards…had a season-high 66 all-purpose yards (45 rushing, 21 receiving) against Iowa State Sept. 19…saw action in nine games, starting three times. 2008 Sophomore Season Rushed for career-best 319 yards and a touchdown on 80 carries to contribute to nation’s 11th-best rushing attack…ranked third on the team in rushing yards while averaging 4.0 ypc…caught 11 passes for 63 yards…earned first career start at Louisiana-Lafayette Sept. 20, gaining 64 yards…gained a career-high 85 yards on 24 carries Oct. 4 against Akron…scored second career rushing touchdown against Delaware State Sept. 13. 2007 Freshman Season Appeared in the last 11 games as a reserve at running back…third on the team with 64 attempts for 279 yards, an average of 4.4 per rush…also caught five passes for 51 yards, an average of 10.2 per catch…was named the team’s Offensive Rookie of the Year…tallied a season-best 49 yards on the ground Sept. 15 against Delaware State…had a career-long 33-yard rush against Central Michigan on Oct. 27…scored his first career touchdown in that game with a 22-yard reception from Giorgio Morgan…scored his first career rushing touchdown with a two-yard run against Buffalo on Nov. 24…returned three kickoffs for 70 yards against Akron Sept. 22…fourth on the team with 400 all-purpose yards…recorded four special teams tackles…one of nine true freshmen to earn a varsity letter…received the Don Nottingham Cup at the conclusion of spring practice as the most improved offensive player.
