After seeing significant playing time in his first season with the Flashes, B.G. Walters heads into the fall second on the depth chart at the field cornerback spot...is a really intelligent player with good instincts.
2008 Junior Season
Saw the field in the final 11 games at defensive back in his first season with the Golden Flashes...earned first career start Oct. 4 against Akron...posted 11 tackles...made a season-high three stops at Iowa State Sept. 6...recovered a fumble in the end zone at Buffalo Nov. 28, stopping a potential game-winning drive with 1:46 remaining.
Prior To Kent State
Recorded 38 tackles (24 solo) and three interceptions in eight games at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif. in 2007...the previous year at Allan Hancock College (Santa Maria, Calif.), appeared in nine games and recorded 34 tackles (22 solo) and one interception...was an all-state, all-region and all-area selection his senior year at William T. Dwyer High School, recording eight interceptions to go along with seven touchdowns...picked off seven passes and had four touchdowns his junior season en route to earning all-area accolades...helped lead his team to an undefeated league season...earned the team's Best Defensive Back Award both years...as a freshman, he rushed for 450 yards....coached by Jack Daniels...also lettered in basketball.
