Juan Soto joined the Kent State football coaching staff in June of 2020 as an offensive graduate assistant.
In his current role, Soto is responsible for the input and breakdown of opponent game film. He also constructs a weekly game plan and works with the Kent State quarterbacks.
Prior to Kent State, Juan served as the recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach for two seasons at Ventura College (2018-2019). Soto was a key member of the coaching staff in Ventura's march to the Southern California Football Association title in 2018, culminating Ventura appearance in the CCCAA State Championship game.
Soto earned his Associates Degree from Ventura College in 2014 and helped lead Ventura College to a 2014 Conference Title. He earned his Bachelor's Degree at Saginaw Valley State in 2017 and was a two-year letterman with the Cardinals.
The Miami, Florida native is the son of Gloria and Alexander Cortez and has one sister, Alexandra.
