Tom Cleaver came to Kent State in the summer of 2018 after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant at Akron. Entering his fifth season in the Mid-American Conference, Cleaver spent two years as a video intern at Buffalo. He also interned with the Buffalo Sabres video department in 2014.

A native of Buffalo, Cleaver attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland with a minor in communications.
