Hampered by an ankle injury last season, Giorgio Morgan heads into this spring second on the depth chart at quarterback.
2009 Redshirt Sophomore Season
Slipped to number two on the depth chart at quarterback after suffering a severe ankle sprain in the season opener that limited his mobility…played in six games, starting four times…threw for 279 yards, completing 50.0 percent of his passes (36-72).
2008 Sophomore Season
Redshirted.
2007 Freshman Season
Forced to give up redshirt season due to multiple injuries at the quarterback position…made first career start against Central Michigan on Oct. 27…was 18-of-28 (64.3 pct.) for 247 yards and three touchdowns on the day…threw a 22-yard strike to Andre Flowers for his first career touchdown pass…was 5-of-8 for 27 yards the next game against Northern Illinois Nov. 10 before a leg injury forced him to leave midway through the second quarter…scored the first touchdown of his young career against the Huskies, a 10-yard run for the game’s first points…had a 155.32 efficiency rating in those two games…earned a varsity letter, one of nine true freshmen to do so.
Prior to Kent State
Named second-team all-region, team offensive MVP, and selected to the Atlanta Journal Constitution Top 50 Players in Georgia as a senior at Tri-Cities High School…passed for more than 1,500 yards for the second consecutive season in 2006…also rushed for more than 700 yards that same season…totaled 17 touchdowns as a senior…earned four varsity letters in football and also lettered three times in basketball…coached by Morris Starr.
