Frist enters the fall as the starter at nose tackle...is one of the toughest players on the team, having returned from an ACL injury in just four months...coaches like his leadership skills...has earned two varsity letters.
2007 Sophomore Season
Started the middle eight games of the season at his defensive line position and appeared in all 12...helped lead the team to the second-best rush defense in the league...recorded 12 stops, five solo...had a sack against Kentucky Sept. 8 for a loss of nine yards...had 1.5 TFL for 10 yards.
2006 Redshirt Freshman Season
Appeared in seven games for the Golden Flashes, before suffering ACL injury...got the start at tackle on Oct. 14 vs. Toledo...recorded a single tackle and half a sack over the course of the season...received the Gerald and Victoria Read Award at the conclusion of spring practice for hard work and dedication beyond the call of duty.
2005 Freshman Season
Was redshirted.
Prior to Kent State
Attended Hargrave Academy in Chatham, Va. prior to his arrival at Kent State...was a two-time All-Mid Southeastern Conference selection at Richmond Senior, including being named to the first team as a senior in 2003 when he recorded 80 tackles and nine quarterback sacks...made 75 tackles and five sacks as a junior, earning all-conference honorable mention...recovered 10 fumbles his last two years...was coached by Ed Emory.
