Will Johnson heads into spring practice atop the depth chart at strong side linebacker.
2009 Junior Season
Saw action in eight games, making six tackles…started three consecutive games from Oct. 3-17.
2008 Sophomore Season
Played in four games as a backup defensive back…recorded six tackles…made four stops against Boston College Aug. 30…earned start Sept. 6 at Iowa State.
2007 Freshman Season
Appeared in eight games, starting four of the last five contests…joined the team in early August…had 27 tackles and 15 solo…had a career high 10 tackles (6 solo, 4 assists) at Northern Illinois Nov. 10…had 2.0 TFL for a total of nine yards…forced two fumbles against Temple on Nov. 17…earned a varsity letter for his efforts, one of nine true freshmen to do so.
Prior to Kent State
Attended Hargrave Academy, recording 83 tackles (11 TFL), four sacks and in interception en route to earning defensive MVP honors…was an all-region his senior season helping Gywnn Park High School to a perfect 14-0 en route to claiming the 2005 state title…tallied 121 tackles and 15 sacks as a senior…also scored 12 offensive TDs…coached by Danny Hayes.
