Amy Densevich joined Kent State's athletic academic counseling staff in July of 2012 following a six-year stint as the assistant softball coach for the Golden Flashes. In her current role, as the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Support, Amy is the sport administrator for softball and soccer, and academic counselor for baseball, women’s basketball, men’s golf and men’s and women’s track & field/cross country. She is also the direct supervisor for Student-Athlete Academic Services department.
Densevich is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and has completed N4A’s Professional Development Institute (PDI), and in the spring of 2022 she was a member for the NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop. Currently, Amy also serves as a member of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Oversight Committee.
Prior to her return to Kent State, Densevich taught special education in the Hudson City School District while also serving as the head softball coach, where she guided the Explorers to a 2007 Division I state title. A 1999 Kent State graduate and four-year letterwinner with the Golden Flashes softball program, Densevich returned to her alma mater in January of 2008 as an assistant softball coach where her main responsibilities included working with Kent State's pitchers and catchers while also overseeing the team's academics and recruiting.
A native of Suffield, Ohio, Densevich earned both her B.S.Ed. in Special Education and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University. Amy and her husband John, a 2012 Varsity “K” Hall of Fame inductee and former All-American shot put thrower at Kent State, live in Stow, Ohio, with their children Cammie and AJ.
