Alison Seberger returned to Kent State as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season. Seberger was Director of Basketball Operations for the Golden Flashes from 2016-19 and has since been a member of the coaching staff at three different schools, most recently serving as associate head coach at Western Carolina for the past two years.
The 12-year coaching veteran made an immediate impact at WCU upon arrival for the 2024-25 season, helping the Catamounts double their win total from the previous year and win the most games (13) in just over a decade. Guard AC Carter earned first-team All-Southern Conference team recognition as the league’s top scorer at 14.4 points per contest.
Prior to that, Seberger was an assistant coach at UAB for three seasons and had an integral role in the program achieving success in its first season as a member of the American Conference after previously playing in Conference USA. The Blazers earned a spot in the WNIT and won 18 games during their debut campaign in The American in 2023-24. UAB totaled three conference postseason honors that season, as Mia Moore and Denim DeShields were All-AAC third-team selections, and Moore was also named to the All-Newcomer team. Seberger mentored a pair of all-conference performers during the Blazers’ final two years in C-USA, including Zakyia Weathersby, who led the conference in six statistical categories in 2021-22.
Seberger arrived in Birmingham after two years at North Alabama, which was highlighted by a victory over 23rd-ranked FGCU as part of a 21-win campaign in 2019-20.
Kent State was her first Division I job, as she was hired as the director of basketball operations in June 2016. Seberger excelled in this administrative role and allowed the coaching staff to focus on the on-court aspects of the program. The Flashes made two WNIT appearances and won a Mid-American Conference East Division championship during her three seasons on staff.
Seberger began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne and spent two seasons on the sidelines in Hickory, North Carolina.
The Geneva, Illinois native played at Illinois State from 2010-14, serving as a team captain in her final season and earning numerous academic and leadership accolades.
Seberger earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies from Illinois State and completed a master's degree in leadership at Lenoir-Rhyne in 2016.
