Jennifer Pruett is in her third season as an assistant coach on head coach Danielle O’Banion's staff. A veteran to the Mid-American Conference, Pruett primarily works with Kent State's guards.
Pruett joined Kent State after one season as an assistant coach at Longwood University. During the 2011-12 campaign, Pruett focused on teaching the team’s point guards and shooting guards while serving as the academic liaison.
Pruett got her start in collegiate coaching as a volunteer assistant coach for Central Michigan in 2010-11. That stint followed a three-year playing career at Ohio University, where Pruett was a three-year starter and team captain for two seasons. A 2008 Mid-American Conference All-Tournament team selection, Pruett was also an Academic All-MAC honoree and was the team’s representative on Ohio’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Pruett also played at Michigan State for the 2005-06 season.
“It is a honor for me to be working with such a dynamic group here at Kent State. There is a great deal of pride and tradition here, and we are excited to uphold and raise that standard. Coach O’Banion is a great coach and I am very fortunate and excited to be working under her leadership.”
A native of St. Johns, Michigan, Pruett is a two-time graduate of Ohio University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education in 2009 and a graduate degree in coaching education in 2010.  She married husband, Brad, in May 2014.
