2009-10: Earned automatic bid to NCAA Championships...finished second at MAC Championships where he pinned NCAA qualifier Jacob Ison (Ohio)...totaled 10 pins on the year, the second most among KSU starters...started the season 8-6, before winning 13 of his next 16 matches...finished fourth at Hokie Open with a victory over Bagna Tovuujav (George Mason), who was the No. 12 seed at the NCAA Championships...earned a fifth place at Body Bar Invitational, going 4-1 with three pins...captured a sixth place at Oklahoma Gold Classic...all but one of his losses came against NCAA qualifiers...went 4-1 with a pair of pins at Virginia Duals...went 11-5 in dual meets and 3-2 in MAC duals.
2008-09: Was redshirted...finished 7-3 at open tournaments at 197 pounds...finished second at both the Michigan State Open (11/9) and the Kent State Open (1/18)...recorded four pins in just 10 NCAA matches...finished third at Edinboro Open with 5-1 mark.
Prior to Kent State: Finished with a 151-32 record while at Oak Harbor...won Sandusky Bay Conference championships and qualified for state all four years in his weight class...helped the Rockets take second at the 2008 Ohio High School State Wrestling Tournament and win back-to-back SBC Championships in 2007 and 2008...won an individual state championship in 2008...recorded a pin in five seconds his senior year, which is an Oak Harbor record...was coached by George Bergman in high school...also wrestled for Lake Erie and Samsons...helped Lake Erie to a first place finish in the Junior Olympics...also contributed to Samsons first place finish in the Disney Duals...wrestled to a 14-0 record for Lake Erie and 12-1 for Samsons.
Personal: Born May 15, 1989...parents are David and LuAnn Witt...has three siblings: Kory, Konner and Karanne...was a member of the Varsity Club, BPA Club and the Foreign Language Club while at Oak Harbor...majoring in education.
