Jay Fiorello joined the Athletic Communications staff at Kent State in August of 2012. His current responsibilities include overseeing the media relations efforts for the Golden Flashes' volleyball, women's basketball, cross country/track and field and softball programs.
Fiorello joined the Kent State staff following one year as assistant sports information director at his alma mater, Mount Union. He aided in all facets of sports information for Purple Raiders' 23 intercollegiate athletic teams, including the school's 11-time NCAA Division III national championship football program.
As an undergrad at Mount Union, Fiorello spent three years working in the sports information office. At the same time, he worked for the Canton Repository and its high football website, FridayNightOhio.com, and was a statistician for the boys' basketball team at Akron East High School.
A native of Canton, Ohio, Fiorello graduated from the University of Mount Union in May of 2011 with degrees in sport business and business administration with a marketing concentration.
