KENT, Ohio --- Kent State University junior quarterback Joshua Cribbs (Upper Marlboro, Md./Dunbar [D.C.]) has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday (Nov. 10).
- Cribbs ran for a career-high four touchdowns, including the game-winner from seven yards out with 1:29 remaining, to rally the Golden Flashes (4-6, 3-3 MAC) from a 20-3 second-quarter deficit to a 37-33 victory at Ohio University Nov. 8. He also had touchdown runs of 16, five and four yards en route to 79 yards on 17 carries. Two of his scores came in the fourth quarter after the Bobcats led 33-24. On the game-winning drive, he dove over center for a first down on 4th-and-1 at the Ohio 16-yard line. Cribbs also was 20-of-36 passing for 250 yards, his fifth straight effort of 200 yards or more.
- With its 37-point output, Kent State scored 30 or more points for the fifth straight game and sixth time this season, setting school records in both categories.
- The MAC award was Cribbs second of the season and fourth of his three-year career. He shared this weeks honor with University of Akron quarterback Charlie Frye.
- The Golden Flashes next will play at #25/nr Bowling Green State University (7-2, 4-1 MAC) this Saturday, Nov. 15. Kickoff at Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green is 6 p.m. EST.
