KENT, Ohio --- Kent State University junior quarterback Joshua Cribbs (Upper Marlboro, Md./Dunbar [D.C.]) has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday (Nov. 24).
- Cribbs accounted for 372 yards of total offense in the Golden Flashes 34-24 season-ending victory over the University at Buffalo Nov. 22. He was 16-of-38 passing for 211 yards and one touchdown, and ran for 161 yards on 12 carries (13.4 ypc), including touchdowns of 80 and 56 yards.
- Cribbs registered his seventh consecutive 200-yard passing game and his 10th career 100-yard rushing effort, while reaching 100 yards both passing and rushing in the same game for the seventh time in his career. In addition, he set Kent States total offense records for both season (3,125 yards) and career (7,731) during the game.
- With his 80-yard scoring run, Cribbs now owns the longest touchdown run in the MAC this season as well as the longest touchdown pass, a 97-yarder at Marshall University.
- The MAC honor was Cribbs third of the season and fourth of his three-year career.
- With wins in two of its last three games, Kent State concluded the 2003 season with a 5-7 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the MAC. Both win totals are the programs second best in the last 15 years to the 2001 team that finished 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the league.
