KENT, Ohio The Kent State University mens golf team has signed Ben Moser (Waterloo, Ontario/St. David Catholic Secondary) to a national letter of intent head coach Herb Page announced today (Nov. 15). Moser is the mens golf programs lone signee during the early signing period.
Moser has been a strong performer on the Canadian junior golf circuit. He won the Ontario Junior Tournament of Champions and the R.C.G.A. Future Links Championship at Listowel Golf Club last summer. At the Future Links Championships, Moser shot a 10-under par total with two rounds of 68. He carded a 7-under total of 209 at the Junior Tournament of Champions.
A selection to the Canadian Junior Boys All-Star Team that competed in the 2004 Canada vs. Ireland matches, Moser also was the runner-up at the 2004 Ontario Junior Boys Championship where he had a four-round total of 2-under par 286.
Moser also is a standout hockey player, currently leading the Junior "B" Waterloo Siskins Hockey Club in scoring. He is a left-handed golfer.
"Ben is a very athletic golfer and hockey player," Page said. "He shot a number of exceptionally low scores in his major victories. Ben possesses excellent touch around the greens and is expected to be an impact player his freshman year."
Moser is the son of Judy and Dennis Moser.
