Womens Golf Ninth After Day One of Lady Northern

KENT, Ohio The Kent State womens golf team is currently ninth after day one of competition at the Lady Northern at the UM Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich. Kent State recorded rounds of 308 and 303 for a 611 total in the first and second rounds.
The Flashes sit four shots behind Notre Dame who is in eighth place (+31) and five shots behind seventh place Oklahoma (+30). Michigan and Missouri are currently tied for first with nine-over scores of 585.
Kate Williams posted rounds of 78 and 73 to pace the Golden Flashes with a two-round score of 151. In round one, Williams posted birdies on holes three and six, but four bogeys on the back nine slipped her to six-over. Williams then rebounded in her second round, shooting a one-over 73 with two birdies (holes seven and 11) and three bogeys.
Gabby Wedding and Tera Delaney are tied for 28th and 32nd, respectively after their two rounds. Wedding posted rounds of 76 and 77 for a 153 score. Delaney posted scores of 78 and 76 for a two-round score of 154.
Becky Wood (76-79, 155) and Karen Delaney (79-77, 156) are tied for 38th and 43rd, respectively while Melissa Adams (84-77, 162) and Kira Meixner (80-83, 163) are tied for 65th and 70th, respectively.
