Golden Flashes Finish Seventh at Mo-Morial Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas The Kent State University women's golf team finished tied for seventh at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial Invitational. The Golden Flashes shot a team total of 945, finishing just three shots out of fourth place.
Host Texas A&M won the event in a playoff over Arkansas, which tied with a 923 team total. The Aggies' Ashley Knoll won the individual title by seven shots with a 2-over total of 218.
The "Mo"Morial Invitational was held at Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas. It is a par-72, 6,307-yard layout.
The Golden Flashes were led by Kira Meixner's top-20 finish. Meixner played a steady three rounds, carding 78-77-77 for a 232 total. She was 12th.
Tara Delaney and Becky Wood each finished tied for 28th with a 239 total. Delaney had rounds of 85-75-79, while Wood shot 80-81-78. Delaney's second-round 75 was the team's low round in the tournament.
Kirby Dreher posted rounds of 78-82-81=241 to place tied for 36th, while Karen Delaney closed with the team's second-best round of the tournament, totaling 90-81-76=247 over three days to finish tied for 55th.
