Meixner and Wood were each previously named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, while Wood was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV At-Large Team in May.
They both played a vital role in leading Kent State to an eighth straight MAC championship and an eventual berth in the NCAA Womens Golf Championships, where the Golden Flashes finished 12th. They also were members of the All-MAC First Team.
Meixner finished second on the team with a scoring average of 74.50. She was the runner-up at the MAC championship, but saved her best tournament for the national championship, finishing in a tie for 12th place. Wood capped her career by finishing third on the team with a 75.05 stoke average. She was a three-time All-MAC First Team performer, finishing tied for third at this years conference championship.
A total of 371 womens collegiate golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of collegiate athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent (Division I) or 66 percent (Division II & III) of the colleges regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
