Kent State completed its competition at the 2007 NCAA Wrestling National Championships as the Golden Flashes' three remaining wrestlers each lost in the consolation round.
Senior Chad Sportelli (Easton, Pa./Easton) lost his match on Friday morning to Michael Sees of Bloomsburg, 7-3, at 125 pounds. Sportelli finished with a 1-2 record.
Sophomore Danny Mitcheff (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria) defeated Zach Tanelli of Wisconsin 8-7 at 133 pounds. Mitcheff lost to Christian Staylor of Old Dominion in his next match 8-2. Mitcheff finished with a 2-2 record.
Junior Kurt Gross (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) lost his match with Moza Fay of Northern Iowa 16-0 at 157 pounds. Gross finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
