KENT, Ohio -- The Kent State University women's golf team has announced the national letter of intent signing of Martina Gavier.
Gavier, a native of Cordoba, Argentina, is a two-time National Match Play Amateur Champion, capturing back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. The 2006 National Junior Stroke Play Champion represented Argentina in the 2006 World Amateur Championships held in Stellenbosch, Africa.
Gavier is currently ranked third in the Argentina Women's Amateur Ranking.
"We are very excited to have Martina joining our program, as she has a great understanding of the game," said head women's coach Mike Morrow. "Martina has proven that she is a fierce competitor from her impressive junior career and her success at both the national and international level. She may be one of the most experienced and decorated recruits we have ever had."
