Jordanek a sophomore sliced more than two seconds off his season-best time with a first-place run in the 1500-meter run. He finished in 3:49.80, ahead of the Buckeyes' Chad Balyo. Senior Seth Hutchinson also claimed a top-ten spot; coming in seventh with a time of 3:53.19.
Back in the field events, freshman Jeremy Brading continued his hot streak. He came into the weekend with the MAC's best pole vault mark of 16 feet, and when the dust had settled, he'd added six more feet, claiming the title in the pole vault finals with a toss of 16 feet and six inches. Senior Marc Johnson came up with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a season best time of 21.61. Ray Armstrong, also a senior, joined teammate Inge in the top ten of the men's 800 as Armstrong placed seventh. Nick Ivancic was third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.01. In the field events, Shamel Smith was fourth in the high jump (6'8.75”), Evan Whiting was sixth in the shot put (55'3.75”), John Harper was runner-up in the discus (179'11”) and Andy Nicholas (222'11”) and Jaroslaw Zakrzewski (201'6”) were second and fourth in the hammer.
Although the KSU women did not claim any individual event titles, a number of athletes continued to improve. Stephanie Hunt claimed a runner-up finish in the 400-meter dash, Jessica Lhotsky was sixth in the 800, Tiffany Brenneman was ninth in the 1500, Sarah McCort was fifth in the steeplechase, Stephanie Blackstone placed third in the 5000-meter run and Gabriella Plocka finished third in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the women's field events, sophomore Brittni Borrero placed second in the discus throw with a toss of 145 feet, eight inches. It was the second runner-up mark in as many weeks for the sophomore. Borrero finished second at last weekend's Northeast Ohio Quad.
The Flashes will head for the heartland for their next competition, taking part in the prestigious Drake Relays in
