Kent State's track team sent a group of nine student-athletes to compete at the 2009 Reebok Raleigh Relays on Friday (3/27) and Saturday (3/28) at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Senior Tony Jordanek (Lexington, Ohio/Lexington) was the top performer for the Golden Flashes' contingent as he finished second in the men's 1,500 meters with a time of 3:49.10 on Saturday.
Junior Jessica Lhotsky (Medina, Ohio/Highland) placed third in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:09.48.
Senior Sarah McCort (North Canton, Ohio/North Canton Hoover) was fifth in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:26.94.
Freshman Audrey Maheu (Bristolville, Ohio/Warren John F. Kennedy) finished fifth in the women's 1,500 meters (4:29.68) and sixth in the 800 meters (2:11.99).
Junior Kelly Gephart (Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor) was eighth in the women's 1,500 meters with a time of 4:34.06.
Senior Joe Parker (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg) finished fourth in the me's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:03.85.
On Friday, junior Aiman Scullion (Salem, Ohio/Salem) placed fourth in the men's 5,000 meters with a time of 14:35.70.
Classmate Allison Krupko (Homeworth, Ohio/Marlington) was 17th in the women's 10,000 meters with a time of 38:50.78.
Sophomore Kassandra Meholick (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) finished 13th in the women's 5,000 meters (17:51.09).
Finally, senior Andrew Carnes (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) was 19th in the men's 10,000 meters with a time of 31:54.78.
Kent State will compete at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina on Friday (4/3) and Saturday (4/4).
