Gavier Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND — Kent State junior women's golfer Martina Gavier (Cordoba, Argentina/Academia Arguello Bilingual School) has been named the first Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the spring season. The conference made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.
Gavier earned her third top-20 finish this season, by virtue of her eight-over, 224 (77-74-73) Monday and Tuesday at the Central District Invitational. Her 19th-place showing helped the Flashes finish ninth in a 15-team field that included 13 of the nation's top 50 teams.
Kent State has a quick turnaround before heading to Valdosta, Ga. Mar. 1-2 for the Kentucky Invitational at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
