Women's Golf Heads to Georgia on Monday and Tuesday

Competing for the third time in less than a month, Kent State travels to the Kinderlou Forest Challenge Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 1-2). The brand new event certainly isn't short on quality, as 14 of the 18 schools in the field are ranked among the nation's top 40 teams according to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings, including the Golden Flashes at No. 32. Kent State is coming off back-to-back top 10 showings in very strong fields at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and at the Central District Invitational.
The Tournament
Kennesaw State and Kentucky are hosting the inaugural Kinderlou Forest Challenge in Valdosta, Ga. at the 6,265-yard, par 73 Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. The teams will play 36 holes Monday on the Davis Love III-designed track, followed by 18 more Tuesday.

The reigning MAC Golfer of the Week, Gavier continues to anchor the Kent State line-up with a 74.9 scoring average – cutting almost a stroke-and-a-half off of last year's mark. Meanwhile, Germino is close on her heels at 75.2, while Bradley is third at 75.8. Marshall (77.1) and Morrow (77.7) round out the quintet as the Flashes are trotting out the same line-up for the seventh straight event.

The Golden Flashes are off for more than three weeks before traveling to Athens, Ga. for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Hosted by Georgia, Kent State finished second at last year's rain-shortened event.
