NEW YORK - The Seattle Seahawks selected Kent State senior wide receiver Jameson Konz with the 38th pick in the seventh round. The 245th pick overall, Konz is the 39th player in KSU history to be drafted, including the fourth selection from the Golden Flashes in as many seasons.
This past year, Konz was the only KSU receiver to start all 12 games and had 21 catches for 298 yards and a pair of touchdowns, averaging 24.8 yards receiving per game. In the third quarter against Miami (Sept. 26, 2009), Konz caught a season-long 56-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Spencer Keith to help Kent State defeat the RedHawks 29-19.
Konz, who also played linebacker for the Golden Flashes, was selected by the Seahawks as a fullback.
